Sporting Chance
Sporting Chance is a national training programme to enable people with disabilities and others who are unable to access further education to build a career as future coaches, leaders and managers in the sports and leisure industry.
The course has been specifically developed to assist participants in gaining employment in the sports and leisure industry, or progressing onto further training and education in this field. All modules are delivered through an individual action plan approach, thus ensuring the course is tailored towards the specific needs of each individual.
The course covers a wide range of modules and qualifications which include ITEC Diplomas in Gym Instruction and Sports Massage, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Swim Teaching, Coaching Qualifications in a variety of sports, and a range of FETAC certification at levels 4 and 5. There is also a very strong practical element where participants have an opportunity to develop their coaching and instructional skills in a variety of sports and exercise classes.

Coaching – Gaelic Football, soccer, hurling, badminton etc (individual to each learner)

Sporting Chance caters for a cross disability sector and provides an individual action planning approach, thus ensuring the course is tailored towards the specific needs of each individual. Many people may never have had an opportunity to attend third level education, or may have been unsure as to whether further education was for them. Therefore, this is an ideal opportunity to gain the qualifications and skills required to pursue a career in the sport and leisure industry.
No course fees apply and the course is run on a continuous intake basis so we are open for applications at any time.
